Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar has suggested that the budget session can be resumed  no sooner the Chief Minister is back.
Emerging from the Business Advisory Committee meeting, of which he is a member, Kavlekar said that they (the Congress) have agreed to end the session on Thursday, but that if the Chief Minister’s health improves and he can come back, the session can be summoned once again.
“They (the Speaker) said that the CM is fine and he can return anytime and that he could have even presented the budget. If he comes, the house should be continued,” Kavlekar said.
“If he returns soon, we can call for another BAC meeting and convene the house once again. Instead of ending on March 23 as earlier planned, we can end it by say March 31,” Kavlekar said.
“We are looking at CM’s health from a humane point of view, we have requested the BAC… even the House was informed that he will be well soon and we too are hoping that he will be back soon. The Speaker said that he could also come to present the budget but that it is not confirmed… that his condition is good. We also believe that the sooner he is back the better. You can take the vote of account for four months, but don’t postpone the assembly to four months later. If you can postpone it for a few days then we can finish it by March 31 instead,” Kavlekar said.
