Dayne claims silver in Singapore windsurfing

VASCO: Goa’s Dayne Coelho clinched a silver medal at ‘Sim 37’ Singapore Open championship held recently. The championship was open to all and allowed the Asian sailors to compete in innovative race formats.

In a series of 12 races and two discards, strong winds gusting from 8-18 knots favoured Dayne and lead him to the best position ever achieved in the history of Indian windsurfing, claims a press release by Goa Beach Sports Academy. Illaham Wahab, Sea Games silver medallist and World No 5, lifted the crown. Gede Subaiasa from Indonesia took the bronze medal.

According to the press communique, Dayne has proved that India has medal-winning potential at the Asian Games 2018 and needs training for international excellence.
