The 5th edition of the Linc Tower Run, Goa 2018 will be held on January 28 at Patto, Panaji. This unique endurance sport that requires the athlete to race up and down five seven-storeyed buildings (a total of 840 steps up and 840 steps down) will commence with the assembly at 7.45 am this Sunday.
In the Individual race, participants run up and down the stairs of Gera’s Imperium II, Gera’s Imperium I, Kamat Plaza and Dempo Trade Centre (twice), and then race to the finish. There are three categories: student (18-), Open (19-44) and Veteran (45+). In the Team race, teams of five members do a relay; each person runs up and down one building and passing the baton to the next. There are three Team categories: Groups, Corporate and Student. The vertical sprint is a race up the seven stories of Gera’s Imperium II, ending on the 7th floor.
Each athlete will have a timing chip attached on his/her wrist with each starting their run at 5-second intervals of each other to ensure smoothness in a competition that can go over to 200 participants for a particular event like an individual race or the vertical sprint.
Online Registration for the Linc Tower Run, Goa 2018 is open on the website http://www.towerrunning.in till Thursday January 25 midnight. For the vertical sprint, registration can be done on the spot. Individual registration is Rs 600 (Rs 300 for students). Team registration is Rs 5,000 for corporates and just Rs 1,000 for students. Vertical Sprint is Rs 400.
