PANAJI: MGP supremo Ramakrishna “Sudin” Dhavalikar has voiced opposition to the erection of any more statues in the Assembly complex.
He suggested that the government should instead identify around two lakh sq mts land to install statues of those who fought for Goa’s Liberation and for the Opinion Poll such as Ravindra Kelekar.
“No statues should come up in Assembly Complex of those who fought for Opinion Poll, were opposed to Liberation,” Dhavalikar said taking a jibe at the legacy of Dr Jack Sequeira.
“MGP Chief Minister Dayanand Bandodkar had stepped down from the chair at the time of Opinion Poll and yet MGP was re-elected and was in power for 12 years. We brought huge industries and development without any support. No other following governments have achieves as much,” he declared.
