Churchill Brothers Sports Club made short work of FC Goa 3-1 in the AIFF Under-13 Youth League at Utorda ground on Saturday.
Churchill attacked early and striker Arnold Oliveira, taking control of the ball from midfielder Anish Gadar, dribbled past FC Goa defender Sahil Imandar and shot from inside the box but rival goalkeeper Micky Dias pushed away the ball to safety in the 7th minute. A minute later, FC Goa midfielder Sanket Patel tried a solo long ranger but failed to convert. Churchill's Oscar Braganza then unleashed a long range shot that dipped into the FC Goa nylons in the 15th minute with Mark Pontes providing the assist.
In the 40th minute, Churchill Brothers doubled their lead when Payas Joshi punted the ball to the far corner
of the net.
Arnold Oliveira put the issue beyond doubt when he punted the ball to the far corner of the net. Enjoying a 3-0 lead, Churchill Brothers colts conceded a goal after a defensive lapse when substitute Shaiz Pathan utilised the error and placed the ball into the far corner of the net.
