CM expects Mandovi bridge to be done by May 31, 2018

Stating that 68 per cent work on the third Mandovi Bridge is complete, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said that the Bridge is expected to be complete by May 31, 2018.
In a written reply to Ponda MLA Ravi Naik who sought to know the current status on the third Mandovi bridge, Parrikar stated, "The overall physical progress as on November 30 is around 68 per cent. The likely date of completion is expected to be May 31, 2018."
As per additional information provided in the reply, till date, 455 piles (72 in river and 383 on land) out of 465 have been completed.
Nonetheless, 76 pile caps out of 94 (4 in river and 72 on land) are completed. Of the 94 piers, 65 are cast for the viaduct portion on the northern side and southern
portion. Additionally, 452 bridge segments out of 1227 have been cast and all pylons below the deck have been completed.
In all, 155 segments of the 4-lane portion have been erected on Northern side and 48 segments are erected for the main bridge.
Eleven pairs of stay cable erection is done on P32 in river (1st pylon from Panaji side) and 7 pairs of stay cable erection has been done on P29 (1st pylon from Betim side).
