The who's who of Goa descended upon the Mandovi Lawns of Cidade de Goa, as Maserati India showcased its super premium sports-utility-vehicle (SUV) called ‘Levante'. A number of high profile personalities like ex-Chief Minister, Pratapsingh Rane, Chairman and Managing Director of Caculo Group, Manoj Caculo, ex-President of Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), Francisco Braganca, Managing Partner of Jutex, Parag Joshi, and many others came together to get a glimpse of Levante.
Bojan Jankulovski, Head of Operations, Maserati India and Sukhbir Bagga, Owner, Petal Maserati (Dealer-Principal) unveiled Levante for the gathering at Cidade de Goa.
Vinith Shetty, Marketing & Public Relations Manager, Maserati India, said, "We are actually doing a preview of Levante for Goan market. This preview is a part of our go-to-market strategy. Prior to this event in Goa, we have done a preview of Levante in Pune and Bhopal as well."
Maserati is a highly niche manufacturer of ultra-premium cars from Italy. All its cars are manufactured at its three plants in Italy. The company has showrooms in bigger cities of India. To reach customers in smaller markets, Maserati has adopted go-to-market strategy.
Shetty continued, "Levante is the first SUV by Maserati in the world. This highly premium car is priced anywhere from Rs 1.45 crore to Rs 1.8 crore (ex-showroom). For Indian market, Levante is fitted with a 275hp 3 litre V6 turbo diesel engine, which is combined with the ‘Q4' intelligent all-wheel drive system. This system can transfer torque between the axles instantaneously when required. This diesel-powered Levante covers 0-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds."
Levante's other notable features include sophisticated suspension, which is combined with electronically controlled damping and four corner air-springs with 5 different ride levels (as well as an extra-low level for parking).
Maserati has a showroom in Mumbai. Any orders from Goa for Levante will be delivered by Maserati's Mumbai showroom. Shetty added, "Interested customers can place an order for Levante. The car will be delivered in 2.5 to 3 months. The car will be delivered at the customer's door-step in Goa."
Ever since its launch in India, Levante has already gained a lot of popularity. Bollywood Actor, Arjun Kapoor, is the first owner of Levante in Mumbai.
