Panjim Dolphins edged past SCC Cavelossim SOWS 1-0 in the Vedanta Women's Football League, organised by Goa Football Association (GFA) and played at Don Bosco, Fatorda ground, on Thursday.

Karishma Shirvoikar scored the only goal in the game and continued her impressive streak taking her goal's tally to five in this tournament.
The game kicked off with both teams playing an attacking outlook with SCCC SOWS creating the first chance in the 3rd minute as they earned a free-kick. Nevilla Colaco's strike from outside the 18-yard was cleared by the Panjim keeper. But Panjim Dolphins struck strong on the counter attack through Karishma Shirvoikar who ran in from midfield and scored the goal giving her team an early 1-0 lead.
Karishma could have doubled her teams lead in the next minute as Michel Castanha's cross to her was cleared by the Cavelossim SOWS defence. On the other side, Cavelossim SOWS had their chances through Khushboo Saundatikar but the Panjim defenders Karen Costa and Remediana Noronha didn't allow them to enter the danger box.
The Panjim Dolphins forwards comprising of Michel and Karishma kept the SOWS defence working tirelessly as they looked dangerous with some potent attacks. Another chance dropped in for Panjim as their skipper Michel displayed some good skills inside the box but failed to convert.
The first session saw Panjim Dolphins create more opportunities with SCCC SOWS defenders made to drop low. The end of the first session saw SCCC SOWS create two chances as Nevilla Colaco was in a one-to-one situation but found her shot straight at the keeper and later she should have scored but the Panjim keeper Candice Fernandes cleared her strike again.
Post resumption, Panjim Dolphins continued attacking as Alisha Tavares lobbed the ball over to Karishma who ran into the box but found her strike hit the crossbar. Two minutes later, Alisha missed again as she failed to keep her shot on target.
For SCCC SOWS, Villa Vaz flicked the ball on target off Myra D'Silva's corner but the keeper caught it straight in her grateful arms.
Sushmita Jadhav of SCCC SOWS was later declared the Woman of the Match. With two straight wins for Panjim Dolphins, they surely are a team to watch out for in
this league.
