According to sources, the first phase of beautification was undertaken in 2011 and the town got many amenities like lightings on both sides, flower decorations on either side of the road, hot mixing of the roads in town and various parts of municipal council, but the authorities reportedly failed to look after its maintenance.
Now, the town will get a boost as the second phase of beautification will be taken up soon.
Speaking to The Goan, Valpoi Municipal Council (VMC) Chairperson Praveen Shaikh the work on the second phase of beautification of the town is likely to be taken up December.
"Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has already sanctioned the proposal for beautification," she said.
"Flowering on either side of the road will be replaced with a new one and provision for maintenance will also be re-considered in this proposal. Maintenance was neglected for the last five years. Now again after five years, Valpoi town will have a new look with full support from the government," said Shaikh.
