Mapusa Municipal workers stage sit-in in MMC boycott work

200 workers angered over delay in receiving salary.

200 workers of Mapusa municipality who are yet to receive the salary for the month of September boycotted work and staged a sit-in at the MMC building. Questions as to why their salary has been delayed while that of the other workers has been remitted on time, the MMC workers staged a protest in the afternoon and demanded that their salary be released immediately. Sources suggest that the salary of these workers is often delayed. Meanwhile, it was stated that the salary would be released on Monday.
