FDs worth `60 cr seized from Imran till date: SIT

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has said the total amount of fixed deposits in the name of Imran Traders frozen by the investigating agency till date to a whopping Rs 60 crore.
"Till now, the Margao-based bank has frozen Rs 60 crore fixed deposits of Imran Traders based on the letter written by the Special Investigation team (SIT)," a senior SIT officer said.
The SIT officer informed that the Bank is still going through the fixed deposits of the company, saying that investigations into the case are still underway. The SIT had requested the bank to freeze/hold a number of fixed deposits account till further instructions.
The SIT had approached the bank since during the course of investigations, it was revealed that out of the proceeds, Ms Imran Traders and others had deposited cash by means of fixed deposits.
