Eyeing Lok Sabha Polls 2019, State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to reach out to electors across the State, even in areas represented by coalition partners. Even State BJP is gearing to follow National President Amit Shah's mantra of ‘Mission 350' for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
After suffering a major blow in the recent Assembly elections which reduced the Party's strength from 21 MLAs to merely 13, the BJP once again sprung into action to retain both their Lok Sabha seats - North Goa represented by Union Ayush Minister Shripad Naik and South Goa represented by MP Narendra Sawaikar.
From September 26 onwards, State BJP is all set to begin with their ‘Booth Vistarak Yojana' through its 375 workers including Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, ministers, MPs, Party office bearers, Mandal presidents, among others. Training session for all 375 members was held on Friday in Panaji.
Addressing a press conference, State BJP President Vinay Tendulkar said, "BJP has been organising various programmes across the Country since September 25 last year to observe birth centenary year of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay. As part of this, we are starting ‘Booth Vistarak Yojana' across the State from September 26."
As part of the programme, the 375 trained party workers which even includes CM, will visit all 1,642 booths for expanding Party base, which would be an opportunity for the BJP to reach out to all its electors across the State and even those in constituencies represented by coalition partners - Goa Forward, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and Independents.
Speaking about the programme, State BJP General Secretary Sadanand Shet Tanawade said, "We held a training camp for all 375 workers on Friday. We have appointed coordinators, which include mandal presidents also. Vistaraks will have to visit the booth for at least two days. On the first day, they will visit the booth committees and even main Party workers. On the second day, the vistaraks will hold meeting with party workers. In some areas, where we have less number of workers, those from neighbouring constituencies will be roped in. Every vistarak has been assigned booths, maximum upto six booths. "
"The opening programmes have been planned only in those booths in which we have been getting leads since 1991 Lok Sabha polls. Through this programme, we aim at reaching out to people in every booth", said Tanawade.
