Guardian Angel edge Govt HSS 3-2

Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School, Curchorem overcome Government Higher Secondary School Canacona 3-2 in Zone I inter-Higher Secondary football tournament organized by DSYA at Sheldem Panchayat grounds on Wednesday. The teams were tied 0-0 at half time.

Guardian Angel Higher Secondary School, Curchorem took the field with renewed ideas in the second half and moved ahead in the 5th minute when Ashley D'Costa beat the Canacona goalkeeper with a long range effort.
Government Higher Secondary, Canacona fought back and equalised in the 15th minute when Velroy Fernandes beat the Guardian Angel goalkeeper with a neat placement. Austin Fernandes restored Guardian Angel's lead when Canacona goalkeeper could only see the ball entering the net off his gloves.
Canacona were unlucky to concede an own goal when Bevan Fernandes was trying to clear the ball and saw it sail into his own net. Government Higher Secondary did not give up and scored again when Adarsh Velip scored in the 65th minute. Guardian Angel thereafter played well and won the match 3-2.
