United Friends, Panaji organised the 11th All Goa Fishing Competition recently at the Captain of Ports Jetty, Panaji.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 88 anglers around the state and of all ages with the youngest being seven years of age while the oldest was 80. Tito Maia who caught a 1 kg 200 grams ‘gobro' (reef cod) was awarded first place, John Dias' 834 grams red snapper fetched him the second place while Felix Pereira walked away with the third place for his 277 gram ‘shevto' (grey mullet). The winners were awarded attractive cash prizes. Nevin Noronha, Head, HDFC Bank was the Chief Guest while Shaunak Bharne was the Guest of Honour.
