Goa Kabaddi Association in bitter power struggle

Goa Kabaddi Association finds itself in a wrangle as it is seemingly headed towards a messy tussle for control of the sport in the state. While the president Rukmini Kamat has been disqualified by the Executive Committee, the GKA now-headed by veteran Ramesh Desai, finds itself without the all-important ‘Minutes book'.

Desai and his fellow executive committee members feel that Kamat is unwilling to handover the ‘Minutes book' because she is apparently afraid that the illegalities will be exposed. Desai has also claimed that the preceding president Dattaram Kamat, Rukmini's husband, during his tenure from 2012-17 had failed to get the accounts audited for that period. Rukmini had succeeded her husband in October 2016.
Along with Rukmini, the GKA executive committee has also disqualified Divisha Satoskar, Allaudin Sanadi and Vijay Pole, for not attending three consecutive managing committee meetings without obtaining leave of absence.
Meanwhile, the meeting called by Rukmini Kamat, notified on August 5, is scheduled for Sunday. However, the GKA lead by Ramesh Desai has warned the affiliated 38 clubs against attending the meeting.
