Curtorim Gymkhana overcome Parish Youth Nuvem 1-0 to move into the finals of 46th Custodio memorial football tournament organised by Raia Sporting at Raia panchyat grounds on Sunday.

In an evenly contested match, both the teams displayed attacking brand of soccer and kept the Sunday crowds on their toes.
Parish Youth slowly took over the reigns and sounded warning when Jerose Olveira picked the ball from Schubert Colaco and the former unleashed a stinging shot which was blocked by Christo Hilario. Parish Youth were unlucky when Jerose Olveira's rasping shot missed the target narrowly.
Curtorim Gymkhana had a close shave when Jerose Olveira's smart header was saved on the goalline.
Post resumption, Curtorim Gymkhana came out with renewed ideas and unleashed a barrage of attacks and had a chance to break the deadlock.
However, Anthony Cardozo and Mario Mascarenhas fluffed sitters. Curtorim Gymkhana nearly tasted success when in-form Jessel Carneiro unleashed a stiff grounder that missed the target by a whisker.
The all-important goal came when striker Clifton Barbosa's scorcher hit the outstretched legs of Clyson Pereira and Rogef Colaco and eluded the rival goalkeeper in the 47th minute.
Stung by the that setback, Parish Youth went all out in search of the equalizer but Curtorim Gymkhana rearguard was stuborn at the back and protected the slender lead tiil the final whistle. Curtorim Gymkhana will meet CDJ Ribandar in the final on
August 5.
