Parish Youth, Nuvem overcame Verna Sports Club 1-0 in an absorbing quarter-final of All Goa 46th Custodio Memorial inter village football tournament organized by Raia Sporting Club at Panchayat Ground, Raia on Sunday. The all important goal came in the very third minute of the play through the boots of Jerose Oliveria.

MARGAO\r\rIn an evenly contested match, both the teams displayed attacking intent and kept the Sunday crowds on their toes. It was Nuvem lads took the control of the match and breakthrough came when Jerose outwitted a couple of defenders and beat the rival goalkeeper with a rasping shot.\rStung by the early reversal, Verna Sports Club regrouped quickly and had a couple of scoring chances but their forwards - Remedios and Schubert D\'Costa could not dismantle the rival rearguard.\rParish Youth looked dangerous on the break and the likes of Rogef Colaco and Stanly D\'Mello were stretching the Verna defence as the game took an end to end nature.\rRogef had a brilliant chance when he got on the end of a long ball from the back but couldn\'t match it up with a finish as he blazed his shot over. Parish Youth had a chance to increase their tally but Jerose\'s smart header missed the target narrowly via flag kick. \r Post resumption, Parish Youth were left frustrated as Schubert Colaco was booked for a yellow card for rough play. Parish Youth were lucky when Verna Striker Clive Coel missed a scoring chance.
