Entire GU campus can be an educational hub, says CM

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday said that the State Government could explore the possibility of shifting professional colleges to the Goa University campus, if GU agrees to the same.

Spells out plans to shift professional colleges to the plateaurrthe goan I networkrPanaji rrHe was speaking at the two-day workshop on Environmental Awareness and Science Inculcation organised by the Task Force for Integrated School Complex at Cujira, Bambolim. r“This area is becoming an educational hub with the integrated school complex in Cujira and GMC and Goa University on the other side. And in the days to come, if Goa University agrees, professional colleges like Pharmacy College could also be shifted to GU campus one by one to make the plateau an educational hub,” said Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. rTask Force Chairman Sidharth Kuncalienker informed that the workshop has been organised as part of the development of soft skills of teachers and students. r“Nearly 210 teachers working in this complex are attending this workshop. We have also selected 40 students each studying in classes from IX to XII. These are formative years and the students have an opportunity to learn,” said Kuncalienker. rStating that BARC Senior Scientist Dr Sharad Kale is the resource person for the workshop, Kuncalienker said, “Kale is known for his scientific approach to various issues. He has developed a special culture for biodegradable waste which we are distributing,” he said.
