Landslides, uprooted trees in Canacona keep firemen busy

The Canacona fire personnel were kept busy on Friday, as atleast three landslides and three incidents of uprooted trees, one on a residential house at Kindlem, were reported in Canacona.

the goan I networkrCANACONArrAccording to Fire Services personnel, landslide blocked the Chapoli road at Nagorcem due to heavy rains and strong wind throughout Thursday night. The mud was cleared by Friday morning and the traffic towards Chapoli dam and the village resumed. rLandslide brought down mud on the road at Paricotta-Matvemmoll, Khola, while another landslide was reported at Kindlem. rA tree uprooted on the highway road at Partagal, which was later cleared by the fire personnel. A coconut tree fell nearby Bhomipurush temple at Gulem, however no damage to any property was reported. A teakwood tree fell on a house belonging to Rajendra Naikgaunkar at Kindlem. rFiremen helped in clearing the tree from the damaged house, informed sources.
