Rotary’s Charity ‘Rain Run 2017’ on July 30

The Rotary Club of Porvorim (RCP) has announced the third edition of its ‘Rotary Rain Run 2017’ in support of women’s health and education scheduled to be held at the SAG Stadium, Bambolim on Sunday, July 30.

PANAJI\r\rThe charity run is being organised for runners both male and female in the 5km, 10 km and 21 km ( Half Marathon ) categories. In a press release issued in the city on Wednesday, the RCP stated that the run would be conducted from the Bambolim SAG stadium to Miramar via the Goa University road. This year both the 10km and 21km runs will be timed events. School children up to class X can register for the 5 km run for free. \rA total of 2,700 runners had participated in the Rain Run last year.\rAn added attraction this year is a ‘personalised bib’ displaying the runner’s name. To avail of this special bib, runners must register by end of day on Sunday, July 16. \rThe run this year is dedicated to women’s health and education and the income generated from the run will go towards supporting the Women Health Centre in Porvorim. The centre which has been set up by the RCP conducts free cervical and breast cancer check-up camps for women from the under privileged sections of society.\rTo register for the run, log on to www.rainrun.rcporvorim.org.
