Cow should be protected as it is worshipped, says Sudin

Stating that he don’t have any objection to food habits of the people, PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar has stated that cow should be protected as it is worshipped. “I don’t have any objection to food habits of the people. My concern is about cow,” he said.

the goan I networkrPONDArrDhavalikar was speaking to media persons during the inauguration of Old Goa-Carambolim Junction flyover and underpass on Wednesday. rWhen asked for his reaction on consumption of beef and notification banning animal markets and sale of cattle at such markets, Dhavalikar said he has no objection to food habits of others. “I will only say that cow should be protected. Any untoward incident against cow can’t be tolerated as we worship cow,” Dhavalikar said. Speaking to The Goan, Dhavalikar said Hindus worship and respect cow and hence it should be protected. rMeanwhile, Dhavalikar announced that the four-lane work on the Patradevi-Bambolim NH4 will be completed within one-and-half year. “The work is estimated to cost Rs 900 crore and it will help people to travel smoothly and travelling time will be less,” Dhavalikar said. r“Four flyovers will be built between this stretch. Flyover at Chimbel will be ready by March next year,” he informed. rAccording to Dhavalikar, the government has appointed a consultancy firm for safety audit of all the bridges across the State. “This will help us in many ways,” he added.
