Benaulim Bachelors prevailed over Benaulim Married XI 5-4 vie tie-breaker to win the Dando Boys of Colva Sao Joao Trophy at St John the Baptist ground, Dando- Benaulim on Saturday. The teams were tied 2-2 at the end of regulation time.

Attacking flair of soccer kept the festive crowd gripped to the proceedings on field. Benaulim Bachelors forged ahead as early as in the 4th minute when Jonathan Gomes beat the rival goalkeeper with a snapshot.
Spurred by the lead, Benaulim Bachelors upped the ante and raised the tempo. Only Ten minutes later, Jaison Vaz doubled the lead with a stiff shot. Stunned by the double strike, Benaulim Married went all out and pressed with more men upfront which began to shore up positively soon after. On the 27th minute Manoj Kesarkar reduced the deficit for the Benaulim Married XI.
Post resumption, Benaulim Married XI put up a dominant show and trouble the rival goal with well orchestrated raids . The reducer helped Benaulim Married to mount tremendous pressure on the rival citadel and Roque Gomes neutralized the lead.
