Owner dies after falling from moving bus in Sanguem

A 65-year-old bus owner from Shirvoi-Quepem died after he fell from a moving mini bus near a culvert at Dando-Sanguem on rnThursday afternoon.

According to sources from Sanguem Police, the bus (GA-02-Z-5586) was proceeding from Sanguem to Molcarnem, when Narayan Raikar, who was the owner and conductor of the mini bus, fell from the moving bus and died.  
Sources said Raikar had locked the bus door and while the bus was proceeding, the door got unlocked and the conductor who was standing at the door lost his balance and fell down on a pipeline and sustained an injury to 
his head.  
Sources added that Raikar was rushed to Sanguem Primary Health Centre, where he was declared dead on arrival. Police is investigating 
the case.     


14-yr-old girl dies in Ponda mishap
PONDA: In a tragic incident, a 14-year-old girl from Dhavali-Ponda died in a road accident involving a two-wheeler and a truck at Safa Masjid, Ponda, on Thursday.  
Police informed that the truck and scooter were proceeding towards Ponda, and on reaching Safa Masjid, the truck reportedly knocked down the scooter. Pillion rider, Mukta Patel fell on the road and succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital, while the rider Bavana Patel (38), also a resident of Dhavli and aunt of the deceased, sustained minor injuries.  
Ponda Police has detained the truck driver and PSI Naveen Desai is investigating the case.
