The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence in Goa seized 2,100 cartons of ‘Gudang Garam’ international cigarettes of Indonesian make valued at Rs 50.4 lakh on May 23.

Officials informed that the cigarettes arrived as baggage of two passengers at the unaccompanied baggage centre at Sada, Mormugao. Both were on a short trip to Dubai and returned, and it appears that their purpose was smuggling.
