BELAGAVI:
Many have been awestruck with the achievements of this son of the soil.
“Certainly, we are proud about his achievement. Previously, Narayan Rane, another son of the region, went on to become chief minister of Maharashtra. Now, news that the son of Malvan soil is likely to become prime minister of a progressive nation like Ireland has certainly made us in Malvan proud and elated,” said John Noronha, former councillor of Malvan Municipal Council.
“We hope after getting elected as prime minister, he will visit Malvan at least once,” Noronha added.
Rosario Pinto, a leading entrepreneur and social activist, also expressed happiness over the news.
“We are certainly happy and wish this son of the soil all the very best. The fact that he has scaled great heights at the international level is praiseworthy,” said Pinto.
