NEET percentile cut off for PG courses reduced

Keeping in line with the Supreme Court orders, the Goa Medical College (GMC) will begin accepting applications for post graduate and diploma courses beginning May 26 at 2.30pm. 
It has also announced that it has reduced the percentile cut offs for the NEET PG 2017.   
In a note issued by GMC Dean Dr Pradeep Naik, The NEET PG 2017 percentile cut off has been reduced by 7.5 percentile taking them to 42.5 percentile for general candidates, 32.5 percentile for reserved category candidates and 37.5 percentile for persons with disability.  Directives to reduce the percentile for applications were issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in consultation with Medical Council of India.   
“Applications are invited from eligible candidates from general category who have secured a NEET PG 2017 score between 667.4111 and 705.9194, those from reserved category having a score between 618.8969 and 655.1766 and persons with disability having a score between 643.1009 and 680.0611,” said the Dean in the notice.   
Applications invitation will begin on May 26 and the last day will be till May 29. Display of the merit list on the medical college’s notice board will be on May 30 and the counseling cum admission for the state quota post graduate degree or diploma will be held on May 31 at 2.30 pm.   
The notice comes as per orders from the SC. In the note, Naik has also asked that candidates must remain in person during the round of counseling and admission with original documents as well as the attested copies. 
GMC has welcomed applications for those interested in MBBS degree with the condition to update NEET scores once they’d received them.
