In a press note, GCCI informed, “Bhandare will succeed Narayan Bandekar, who has been GCCI’s president for two terms between 2013 and 2017.”
Bhandare has played a very crucial role in the affairs of GCCI for more than two decades, after joining it in 1994. In his long association with GCCI, he has served in many important positions like treasurer and vice president of the chamber.
Bhandare, a rankholder of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), has been heading GCCI’s taxation committee since 2003.
GCCI further said, “The fact that Bhandare was chosen unanimously to carry forward the legacy of a dynamic and charismatic leader like Narayan Bandekar shows the level of confidence that he enjoys among the chamber members.”
