Pai Kane Group wins EEPC award for second time

Company has sold gensets to 63 countries

Power Engineering India Pvt Ltd, a Pai Kane Group company, recently won the 
Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) award for export excellence as star performer in the category of electric motors, generators and transformers.     
This is the second consecutive time the company has won the award. The award has been given acknowledging the company’s performance in two straight years, 2013-14 and 2014-15.   
This is a major boost to Goa’s manufacturing sector as Power Engineering India is a Goan company, which is based out of Tuem in Pernem taluka.   
Speaking on the occasion, Atul Pai Kane, executive chairman, Pai Kane Group said, “Ever since we started 
exporting, we have sold gensets in 63 countries. Besides, we have appointed 48 dealers in these countries. Our export team is predominantly Goan, with the exception of one person, who is based out of Middle East.”   
He continued, “The capacity of our plant in Tuem is to manufacture 15,000 gensets, as of now. We employ 450 plus employees. By 2020, we plan to have a network of 100 dealers across various countries. For the manufacture of gensets, we use seven makes of engine, five of which are well known internationally.”   
Power Engineering India got the award at the hands of Piyush Goyal, minister of state with independent charge for power and coal. Pai Kane also informed that his was the only Goan company to win the award this year.   
Power Engineering India is a major player in the export market of gensets. 
It was also informed that the company has supplied gensets to projects in countries like Bahrain, Qatar, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Iraq, Singapore and even to a World Bank Project in Kenya. At Qatar, the company’s gensets are installed at the U.S. Airbase.
