Curtorim Gymkhana got the better of Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club, Paroda 4-2 via the tie-breaker to enter the semi-finals of All Goa FC Raia Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Raia FC at Panchayat Grounds, Raia on Monday. There was no score at the lemon-break.

The opening session was a cagey affair with both the teams displaying attacking flair and Curtorim Gymkhana enjoyed more ball possession and set pieces.
Jovan Dias who recently donned Salgaocar FC under 18 I-League at Kolkata was in the thick of action and unleashed a free kick which hit the human wall and rebounded. Jessel Carneiro’s shot was well blocked by rival goalkeeper. Tempers frayed with players indulging in physical battle and referee had to intervene to restore sanity to the proceedings. Curtorim Gymkhana had an opportunity to break the deadlock when Jolsy Costa unleashed a volley which was taken care of by Paroda goalkeeper. At the other end, Fr Agnel Spo rts Club were far from being their best as their forwards hardly made inroads into the rival territory. Crossing over, both the teams continued in their search of elusive match-winner but rival rearguard stood tall in protecting their citadel.
In the ensuing tiebreaker, Nelson Fernandes, Jessel Carneiro, Savio Fernandes and Joaquim Carvalho were on target for Curtorim Gymkhana while Sezvin Fernandes and Macky Fernandes converted for Fr Agnel Youth Sports Club. On Tuesday, Parish Youth Nuvem will collide with Cortalim Villagers in their quarter-final encounter.
