As many as 162 nominations were received on Monday for the panchayat elections in Pernem taluka.

The Pernem Returning Officer has received a total of 202 nominations thus far.
According to sources, 16 nominations were received from Morjim, Dhargal (15), Arambol (13), Mandrem (12), Virnoda (12), Palyem (11), Agarwaddo-Chopdem (10), Tuem (10), Keri (9), Tambosem-Mopa (9), Parsem (8), Khajan-Amere-Poraskade (6), Ibrampur (6), Ozari (6), Torsem (5) and Varkhand (3).
Pernem Mamlatdar Ishant Sawant and Joint Mamlatdar Emalia Pinto have been appointed as returning officers for panchayats elections.
BICHOLIM: A total of 134 nominations were received on Monday for the forthcoming panchayat elections in Bicholim taluka.
According to sources from Bicholim Mamlatdar’s office, with Monday’s nominations, the total nominations filed as on Monday were 158 including 24 nominations received till Saturday.
