Goa held the upper hand in both the halves and troubled the rival defence with well orchestrated raids.
After missing a couple of scoring chances, Goa broke the deadlock when Karishma Shirvoikar, who was in the of thick action punished the rival goalkeeper with a clinical finish.
At the other end, Karnataka were restricted to their own half. Crossing over, Goa continued to dictate terms and fired a couple of good shots which either missed the mark narrowly or went straight into the safe hands of rival goalkeeper.
Karishma Shirvoikar sealed the rival’s fate in the 72nd minute when she slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a stiff shot.
Earlier, Goa lost to favourites Manipur 4-0. Goa require a miracle to make it to the next stage if Karnataka upstage Manipur by a huge margin.
