Speaker Pramod Sawant surprised staff of the secretariat by paying a visit to the offices only to find that several clerical staff had left before the scheduled time of 5.45 pm prompting show-cause notices to be issued to them.

Speaking to The Goan, Sawant said that the habit of staff leaving early needed to be curbed which prompted his impromptu visit.
“Around 32 staff have been issued show-cause notices to explain why they had left early. Some of them had left before 5.15 pm more than half an hour early.
They have also been warned that such behaviour will not be tolerated again,” Sawant said.
