Farmagudi take on Vasco in South Zone cricket finals

The 17th All Goa Inter-ITI Sports Competitions (South Zone) got off to a rousing start on Thursday at the Cuncolim grounds in the presence of Sports Chairman SS Gaonkar, South Goa Co-ordinator, Edwin Fernandes, Principals and other staff of various ITIs of South Goa.

The sports competition began with football event as  ITI Cacora entered the semis with a 5-0 win over ITC Sesa, Panchwadi. 
In the second match, ITI Farmagudi lost to ITI Vasco 1-2. 
In cricket, ITI Famagudi reached the finals.
ITI, Vasco won the first match by defeating ITI, Margao. ITI Vasco scored 96/4  in 10 overs. In return ITI Margao were restricted to 71/4 in  10 overs.
ITC, Sesa, Panchwadi won the first match by defeating ITI, Canacona. ITC Sesa, Panchwadi, scored 75/8 in 10 overs. Akshay Madwal (captain) was the star for ITC Sesa in batting as he scored 21. While ITI Canacona were bowled all out for 53 it was mainly because of  Akshay Madwal who once again topped with the ball this time, picking up 3 for 9.
In the first semi-final, ITI-Farmagudi defeated ITI- Cacora by 4 wickets.  ITI Cacora scored 58/5 in 10 overs while ITI Farmagudi chased the score reaching 59/6 in 9 overs. In the second semis, ITI, Vasco won the match by defeating ITC, Sesa Panchwadi by 5 wickets.
ITC, Sesa Panchwadi were bowled out for 46 all in 9.4 overs which left ITI Vasco with an easy task as they reached 50/5 in 8.4 overs.
