MAPUSA:
Some of the major roads that were dug up for laying sewerage pipelines and chambers have been left unrepaired, inconveniencing motorists and pedestrians alike.
With monsoon just two months away, the broken roads could pose problems to the residents of the town during the rains.
“Some roads have to be repaired. Simplex which is undertaking the sewerage works has to repair the roads. It’s not done because of shortage of funds. I have spoken to the urban development minister,” said Sandip Falari, Chairperson of Mapusa Municipal Council.
Besides the broken roads, many of the other roads that were repaired and hot-mixed have developed huge depressions around the manholes and need urgent attention.
