“I accept people’s verdict with grace, but I won’t leave politics with one defeat. Neither will I leave my supporters and well-wishers who had tirelessly worked for me and had shared with my concerns,” said Tawadkar at a meeting at Ordhofond-Canacona on Sunday.
“Panchayat elections are due shortly and we all will fight the panchayat polls. I will personally campaign for our people and I will remain politically active,” said Tawadkar.
“Many political parties are in touch with me, but whatever decision that I take will be your full knowledge,” said Tawadkar, amid speculation that some BJP bigwigs were also in contact with their former colleague.
ZP member Dr Pushpa Aiya and former Mahila Adyaksha Vinda Satarkar were among the prominent local BJP leaders present at the meeting.
Shristhal Sarpanch Prashant Desai, Gaondongrim Sarpanch Barkelo Velip, councillors Dayanand Pagui, Hemant Naikgaunkar, Kishore Shet and others were present and spoke at the meeting.
