CANACONA
A 70-year-old resident of Loliem was found dead on the railway tracks at Pedem-Canacona on Wednesday.
According to Margao Railway Police, a call was received at 6.30 am stating that a body was lying across the railway tracks at Pedem, which is nearby to Loliem KRC station.
The deceased was identified as Francis Pereira. The body has been preserved for postmortem on Thursday, informed the railway police when contacted over phone.
Though the railway police did not divulge much information except saying it was an accident, sources informed that the man staying nearby could have accidentally come in contact with a running train when he went to answer nature's call early Wednesday morning.
