Keeping ancient art forms alive

| JANUARY 16, 2017, 12:00 AM IST

Dancers from Banglanatak performed an ancient Indian dance form practiced by men of the Bagdi community who typically served as bodyguards to feudal lords in medieval Bengal. The dance incorporated martial arts and acrobatic movements that represent the act of fighting. The troupe first performed at Lokutsav and then had another special performance at Museum of Goa the next day, on January 15. Some ardent fans of dance and art were in attendance.
