A second-year student of Institute of Hotel Management and hailing from Gorai-Mumbai ended her life in a rented house at Porvorim late Sunday night.

According to Porvorim police, Amisha Sunil Siriah and a friend were residing on the first floor of a bungalow near Vidhyaprabhodini High School.

When the friend returned to the bungalow at about 11.30 pm on Sunday, she found the door locked and Amisha did not respond to her calls.

The friend then alerted the owner of the bungalow and he entered the room through the gallery of the bungalow, where he noticed the body hanging from the ceiling fan.

The police was notified and the body was sent to the GMC hospital at Bambolim. After an autopsy, police handed over the body to the woman's mother.

The police found a note in the room, reportedly written by the deceased stating that she was fed up of life and had decided to commit suicide. The note also stated that no one should be held responsible for her death. Porvorim PSI Anant Polekar is investigating the case.
