“Due to Centre’s financial aid, work on six-lane Zuari Bridge has begun. Piling work on the bridge has already started on Verna side. The project of around Rs 3,500 crore was sanctioned within one go. Besides, work on four-lane and six-lane highway is also going on simultaneously,” he said.
He was speaking at the Vijay Sankalp Mahamelava in Siolim in the presence of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza, WRD Minister and local MLA Dayanand Mandrekar, party president Vinay Tendulkar and other leaders.
Speaking further, he said Prime Minister Modi has promised to walk an extra mile if there is any shortfall in the development of Goa.
Lauding the development work carried by the BJP-led government, Parsekar said 75 percent of the bridges in the State came up in the nine years when BJP was in power.
“Other governments ruled the State for the last 46 years but they have failed to bring in projects that were necessary for the State,” Parsekar said.
He said the opposition work only during
the election time and spread lies to the public.
Stating that BJP has completed 90 percent of promises it made in 2012 manifesto, the chief minister said the opposition should also see the work that the party has done which was not promised in the manifesto.
“In his address, Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza said: “There is no family Raj in BJP. We gave 27 per cent representation to OBC in civic elections. From a small state, two Goans have become union ministers. Parrikar brought BRICS, defence expo, etc.”
WRD Minister Dayanand Mandrekar said: “My home is my party office and any BJP worker can walk in my home from morning to 12 at night.”
